Why a billing page is a product page
We researched this category thoroughly before building SEOtopilot, and the most reputation-damaging complaints about AI SEO tools weren't about content quality. They were about billing: cancel buttons that don't exist, retention flows engineered to exhaust you, credits that quietly expire, prices that differ between the website and the invoice.
That's a choice vendors make. So we made the opposite choice, and we're writing it down where it can be held against us.
The commitments
1. Cancellation is one click, self-serve, forever
Cancelling happens in the billing portal — the same portal that manages your card and invoices. One click. No retention screens, no "let me connect you with a specialist," no fabricated charts about what you'll lose, no requirement to email support. This is a product principle, not a policy that quietly changes after launch.
2. No expiring credits
Your unused article allowance rolls over rather than vanishing at the end of the month, banked up to half a month's allowance — and that cap is stated here, not discovered in the small print. Use-it-or-lose-it credit systems exist to bill for capacity that's never delivered; we'd rather not run that business. Details on pricing explained.
3. The public price is the real price
Every price we charge is a public number — both plans and the volume dial — displayed on a pricing page that matches the checkout, which matches the invoice. There is no negotiated tier and no "contact sales" price, at any spend level. If pricing ever changes, existing subscribers hear about it clearly and in advance.
4. Usage is always visible
Your dashboard shows the same usage numbers we see: articles used, rolled over, remaining. There's no informational asymmetry to exploit — the anti-credit-trap, made visible.
5. The trial takes no card, and refunds take no fight
The 14-day free trial (three full articles) requires no card, which means it structurally cannot convert into a surprise charge — when it ends, nothing happens unless you actively subscribe. After subscribing, a 7-day full-refund guarantee applies: cancel inside 7 days and the refund is issued in full, self-serve. Nobody will ask you to justify either decision.
6. Your content is yours
Everything SEOtopilot publishes goes to your CMS under your control. Leaving doesn't strand your content on our servers — there's nothing to hold hostage, by design.
Why we think this wins
Partly it's just how we'd want to be treated. But it's also strategy, laid out in why we built SEOtopilot: in a category with a visible trust problem, being straightforwardly trustworthy is a competitive position. A fact-checker built into the content and an exit door that works are the same idea applied at different layers — the product shouldn't require your suspicion.
If any of the commitments above ever stop being true, this page — public, dated, and versioned — is the receipt. That's the point of it.
